Autologous Platelet-Rich Serum Injection

In this regenerative therapy, a small quantity of the patient’s blood is withdrawn and centrifuged to separate the platelets from the rest of the blood components. The platelets are extracted, activated with the help of an ultrasonic machine, Ozonated and then injected in the required area.

How does it work?

The platelets are rich in growth factors which play an important role in the normal healing process following any injury. With this therapy, the same growth factors are utilized to repair damaged cartilage, ligaments and tendons. Apart from this, the growth factors also stimulate the formation of new cartilage and increases blood supply of the joint which in turn increases synovial fluid production (improved lubrication). Joint replacement surgeries can be postponed or avoided to a large extent with this therapy. Upto 3 injections, each a month apart, are required to get maximum benefit.

Other uses

Chronic Non-Healing Wounds:

Autologous serum injection can be used to aid the healing of chronic non-healing wounds. The growth factors will increase the blood flow to the wound and stimulate healing.
